Avakai Pickle is a traditional recepie prepared with highly sour mango varieties like Alphonso, Neelam, Kalapadi. Immature baby mangoes of these varieties are plucked and packed on order basis. Avakaya pickle is an Andhra cuisine style prepared with sour mangoes, garlic and mustard powder, salt, chilli & turmeric powder, cooking oil.
Alphonso mango is of high quality and top grade mangoes wherein each piece weighs from 200 gms to 300 gms. Alphonso is known as Gundu in South, Badami in Konkan, Hapus in Northern regions. Alphonso is the highly recommended variety to extract pulp and mango juice. Premium variety differs in the size compared to normal mangoes and the taste, color, quality remains same in both.
Significantly larger than their Alphonso counterparts, this mango variety is produced in Banaganapalle of Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. With its pleasant aroma, they are oval in shape, with smooth skin.
